Spiritual
life means constant awareness of Lord’s presence within and without,
Causeless
prayer, yearning and deep love for Him
Once our whole being is in a state of constant prayer
what is left is not us but Him. Prayer and crying for Him can perform this
miracle. All actions (internal and external) should become a sacred offering
unto the Lord. Serve and love Him without any selfish desires, cultivate a love
of constant service to Him, be exclusively attached, devoted to Him.How many
humans seek Moksha? Out of thousands only one in an age finds freedom from the
bonds of Samsar and Maya. Only in a human body can Jnana and Bhakti evolve, not
with bodies of other realms. It is a rare fortune to get this sturdy and fine
ship.
The All-love (Lord) longs for the loving company of
men and that is the reason why He became many. The infinite variety of creation
has sprung from His infinite longing for love-reciprocation. Devas are eager to
be born human and in India for they say that in such a birth all Purusharthas
can be realized – Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha – which even Gods find
difficult to attain. The Jiva is in truth God who enjoys the world of the
senses which the Antaryamin manifests. From this enjoyment he falls into
ignorance, starts to hold the body for the self, becomes attached to it and
suffers the Samsar-torments embroiled in Karma, wanders in transmigration from
body to body, death to death and reaps the fruits of his actions. This life is
not our own. Protect it as His and never forget this. Every living being is
part and parcel of the Lord. Lord Kusum
Haranath moves about those who always think of Him.
When the heart becomes calm the Jiva sees the Lord’s
reflection in it which He is always throwing upon it. Whatever you do do it in
the living presence of the Lord, lose the ignorance of duality and separation
from Him. Once the impurities of the mind are removed a devotee recognizes that
there is no difference between him and the Lord. Be absorbed in Him. Then He will reciprocate
your love to the fullest extent and make you His own. He always gives His
Bhaktas so much more than what they pray for. Don’t consider
the work of the world as your own. It is His. Our own work is only to
worship Him. As soon as we can please Him we will get leave from work. He will
call us to His side and we have no longer to come and go bound by Karma. Regard yourself as instrument. Throw all
responsibilities on Him, let Him alone guide you as a charioteer. Everything lies in His hands. What is His
will only will happen. We have to endure equally all His works. He controls
everything. We are deceived thinking we are the doers. We don’t choose where we
are born or anything we do during our lives. This life is not our own. Protect
it as belonging to Him and never forget it. Only those are sane who fully
realize that they exist not for their own but for the sake of the Lord. Our life is meant to realise God. As
long as we indulge in Karma our soul is bound into more and more incarnations.
The thread of Karma lengthens, its knots grow in number. Our life is most conducive to
pursue the path to enlightenment. Convert it into a Yagna to discover the Atman, the
light of lights, which lies buried in the heart. All this universe is only
Atman. There is nothing other than the Atman. It is unborn, eternal, self-illumined consciousness, changeless,
undecaying, without a second, distinct from the body, ever untouched by
material things, pure consciousness The body is in comparison like a log of
dead wood. Destroy the illusion that you are body and establish yourself in the
bliss of Atman. It remains hidden in Maya’s darkness as long as one does not
actively seek its true nature. All things other than Atma are delusions, have
no reality. The method of liberation is Bhakti . Only in a human body can
Jnana and Bhakti evolve, not with bodies of other realms. The Lord blesses
those who worship Him. One of His ways is that He manifests Himself in every
heart in the form of NAME in order to sanctify our unclean hearts to make us fit
for His Seva. He becomes active within
and begins to perform Japa and Kirtan. Nobody can understand this Tattva unless He makes us realize it.
Sweet indeed are Your doings, o Lord, and deep in
significance as the ocean. It is from Your love for us that you accept our
devotion. Whatever we offer you returns to us with thousand blessings. Those who
renounce all desires and surrender to HIM He will shine in their hearts as
their very Self. The joy that man feels is something that no creature, bound by
senses, can ever understand.*
Once the whole
being is in a state of constant prayer what is left is not we but Him. Prayer
and crying can perform this miracle. May the Lord it so ordain that we can always shed tears
with His Name on our lips. Tears are like swirls in the stream of love, hence
they are so deep. Thy soften and purify. You, o Lord ,have made Your Name of
such potency that constant repetition purges of all sins, unloosens all Karmic
bindings and facilitates our return journey home. You live in Your Name. If we
stick to constant repetition as advised by Him everything concerning His Tattwa
is sure to be revealed to us .There is no difference between the Lord’s holy
Name and Himself. From Name we get love
and devotion. Nothing else is necessary. Consider every second as valuable
as an age and spend all your time in Japa. By chanting His Name Bhava develops, which is the preliminary
stage in developing Prema. Then it comes to pass that one can’t forget the Lord
even for a moment. Through this Bhava
with trembling, perspiration, tears one gradually attains Prema. Prema is a
particular property of the Lord and Radha – no one else can know or possess it
without their grace. It is a saturation of the heart. By its very nature it
overleaps all bounds and reaches Jivas
to his feet.Bhakti suffices to free us of the bondage of births and deaths.
Just chanting the Lord’s holy names liberates a man in this age of accumulated
sins, this age of darkness. (ex Bhagavatam)
