MAHATI VINASHI

MAHATI  VINASHI,
the great loss, the failure to look within and find the Self

The down- and outward flow of consciousness must be directed inwards and upwards towards the Lord.A Mind which constantly thinks of God dissolves into Him, a mind which listens to His holy Purana becomes increasingly able to grasp  the subtlest truth that is the Atman. Only in an absolutely thought-free mind can the Self shine forth unobstructed. Purify the heart with Bhakti, abandon every other thought for all of these are illusions, dreams (Bhagav. P.1287 VolII)Here  i quote Lord Krishna:”Bhakti dawns only on those who want nothing from Me, no material or worldly gain or even Moksha. My presence will destroy the desires in such a heart. One who serves Me with no notion of any difference between himself and Me, who surrenders  his Karma, body, soul to my care, who is egoless, sees Me everywhere and himself as my servant. ‘We exist not for our own sake but for His sake. Our comings and goings don’t depend on our will but take place at the Lord’s will. From eternal bliss we came and to it we must return.True bliss is within us and is everlasting.Undying joy is our natural  inheritance. This life is not ours but His and has to be protected as His. Let us never forget this.

The cause  of our misery is the lack of knowledge about our true internal joy, the want of constantly feeling His nearness. He is always near us, cant remain even for a moment away from His devotees. Our Ego gets extinguished only in the blaze of self-realisation. The outer shell – body and Ego – must die so that we grow into Atma. Once it is gone we become one with the Lord. We have to long for His grace. Our immense efforts  and self-surrender will move His heart. Just  think  of His endless sufferings for His  Bhaktas, even though they don’t ask for it. There is none so  kind and full of bliss as He. Whatever we offer Him in  Prema returns to us with thousands of His blessings.

Only one  in thousands strives for perfection and among those strivers only one per chance knows Me in essence.(Lord Krishna to Arjuna: Gita Vii, v.3)Determine to get Him. Ever look forward to His appearance. Who concentrates on Me totally, excluding all other thoughts, contemplating on Me continuously will quickly come to Me. Purify the heart with Bhakti, renounce all other thoughts for they are illusions, mere dreams( Bhag.VOL.ii p.1287) Bhakti is the permanent sticking of thoughts to the Lord’s  Lotosfeet. Chanting His Name is the most efficient way of mind control.Who constantly thinks of Me dissolves into Me. The Lord’s pleasure, not ours should be always in the mind. Egoless minds are full of love.  We have to give up all ideas of agency to Him who alone acts. We are mere spectators, existing not for our own sake but for His sake.Once our  work is motiveless we are no longer limited by cause and effect, work as masters – not servants -  care not for  fruits. The Lord is no longer considered as Lord but seen as the most intimate, as one’s own .Our self-surrender should be perfect, unreserved ,to make it  happen that Lord’s grace descends. Not even an atom of desire or egoism should be there. The more the Ego stops to function the more the Lord will enter into the whole being. Our bodies are but toy-dolls. As the master desires to play with them they go on playing. The infinite numbers of individual souls seem to exist independently but in truth God is their substratum, their source of life, energy, intelligence. There is only one  Atma, Paramatma everywhere.

The highest Dharma is Bhakti alone and the greatest Bhakti  is enshrined in Lord’s Name.Chanting His Name is as good as associating with Him.When we love Nama mind can be  controlled. Regard Nama as your own. Through constant Japa body, mind and Name become one. Then Nama and Nami become one and manifest their Lila in the heart. Name builds up a Bhavdeha for the soul  to retain the thinnest possible Ego. Make Name enter your heart or ear- labyrinth and have mind as well as heart adorned by faith. The more one progresses in Namjap the more the sense of I and Mine will go.Nama Japa makes the consciousness come to the heart plane. Once we taste this  incomparable nectary  sweetness our spiritual progress will be marvellously speedy.Self-forgetfullness will come of its own accord. In the Srimad Bhagavatam, in which the Lord lives* it is written that He accepts our devotion and whatever we offer with thousands of His blessings.  His very Name can set us free, Bhakti shall be the only way to salvation in the Kali Yuga. A home, in which the Bhagavatam is recited becomes like a temple, burns every sin of those who live in it. Bhakti means to use the body to serve Him, the speech to describe His glory, to surrender heart , soul and mind to Him and to renounce every desire for His sake.

Calling out His Name is the highest penance to expiation for our sins. No Tapasya, Yagna purifies a sinful heart like uttering His Name fervently. Namjap is like the most potent herb for a sick mans cure. Have utmost faith in the unlimited power of His Name as it can solve all problems relating to the spiritual world, then what about the trifling problems of this world? Who utters Name continually has attained liberation while living (Tukaram). Constant repetition purges Jivas of all sins, unloosens all Karmic bindings and facilitates our return journey home to Brindavan.

Before birth we remember the last 100 births and pray silently to be delivered, are not able to cry or even sigh  and  suffer for our sins. It is the body that torments the Jiva  birth after birth, death after death, the body he serves and entangles himself deeper and deeper into the Samsara cycle.(Bhagav. Vol.1 P.136 )

The most sublime religion is the uninterrupted flow of heart and mind towards Him. Wise men should love the Lord whole-heartedly, see His presence in Guru, Devas, in all beings everywhere. He should restrain his mind, draw his thoughts inward, away from  the senses, think only about Him, purify the heart with Bhakti, abandon every other thought, for they are all illusions, mere dreams.
